Thursday, September 14, 1911. Stolypin shot.

Russian Prime Minister Pyotr Stolypin was shot in the stomach by Dmitry Bogrov, a young Ukranian Jewish lawyer, at a play.  He would die four days later.

Bogrov had been an anarchist turned informant.  He had recently started practicing law in St. Petersburg where he was horrified by Russian pogroms.

Ironically, Stolypin was a reformer.

El Primer Congreso Mexicanista convened at Laredo, Texas under the leadership of Nicasio Idar to advocate for civil rights for Hispanic citizens. The convention approved the formation of La Gran Liga de Beneficincia y Proteccion.
