Churchill proposed the creation of a United States of Europe in a speech in Zürich.
Churchill's idea would go on to the be the European Coal and Steel Community which was created in 1951, and then the European Economic Community, the European Community and finally the European Union. Churchill himself would be oddly indifferent to the United Kingdom joining the organization,as he did not see the UK as a European nation. That indifference in the UK lives on today, as the UK famously joined the EU and then left it.
The EU itself has not reached the state of being a fully federalized sovereign, but is an interesting quasi state. Looking at the complete collapse of the United States, EU members may well be glad that a fully federal state has not been created.
The organization recently reached out to Canada as the US becomes a belligerent failed state, which may become an associate member.
NAACP director Walter F. White reached out to President Trump for action on racial violence. Unlike prior US Presidents, Truman, horrified by the blinding of Isaac Woodard, ordered the Attorney General of the United States to being working on action.
