Lex Anteinternet: CliffsNotes of the Zeitgeist, 122nd Edition, part two. Trouble with the Trump 'wimmins". Pam Bondi is fired.

Trump and sycophants, Bondi included.  A prediction here is that Hegseth, to Trump's right, will be the next sycophant to be canned.

News reports this morning hold that Trump is considering canning Pam Bondi for her poor handling, if that's what she's doing, of the Epstein matter, which just won't go away.

The weird thing is that if you hang out with kiddy diddlers, brag about checking out teenage models at a pageant in the buff, talk about grabbing, well you know, people start to think you might be a kiddy diddler.

Weird, eh?

And she's gone.

According to the Daily Mail, the British tabloid, which I would not regard as fully reliable, she begged not to be canned.  She probably ought to regard it as a relief, given that she's now off the sinking ship.

It's my sincere hope that she never works as an attorney again.  She's been an embarrassment to a profession that's far too often embarrassed.  Her conduct has been reprehensible.  Frankly, I doubt that she'll practice law, however.  She'll probably lectures at some university, which seems to be the place all departed politicians go, and I'm certain that she'll work on a tell all book that condemns Trump, now that he's terminated her career.

Her reputation will never recover.

CliffsNotes of the Zeitgeist, 122nd Edition. Trouble with the Trump 'wimmins", Hypocrisy in the Trump Administration. The disappearing and reappearing J.D. Vance and Marco Rubio.

Weird, eh?

Anyhow, Trumps thinking of canning Bondi, and putting Lee Zeldin in her place. Zeldin is another Trump lawyer.  He's currently the head of the EPA.

If Bondi departs, she'll be the second major Trump admin sycophant to be canned, Noem being the first, so both cannings will have been of women.  A big difference, however, will be that Bondi is downright dangerous.  If Trump turns on Bondi, she'll turn on him.  Trump's advisors know that, but may be too afraid to tell him, and he's likely to dense to grasp that.

Noem, who turned out to be loathsome as the head of Homeland Security, won't be turning on Trump. . . yet. She's wait for him to be out of office, then she will.  But she's been back in the news due to her husband showing up in photos cross dressing and wearing big fake boobs.

Frankly, Noem, and her husband are to be pitied for this, not condemned.  But it does raise the interesting topic of hypocrisy in the Trump Administration.  The administration is thick with Christian Nationalism and "conservative values", but Noem was widely rumored to he engaged in an extramarital affair with another Trump official, even carting him around on expensive junkets. and now it turns out that her husband had what I'd regard as a sexually centered mental illness, one which he apparently didn't adequately attempt to conceal, and perhaps didn't attempt to conceal at all.  Trump himself is a serial polygamist and there are at least credible indicators that he may have fished in the shallow end of the pond, if not worse.  Bondi didn't acknowledged abused women after ranting at Congress.  Miller sounds like Himmler most of the time he speaks but is Jewish.

Perhaps we shouldn't be all that surprised.  The Nazis were sort of the same way.  There were affairs and of course one legendary homosexual scandal.

Sin makes you stupid, as Jimmy Akin warns us.

Since the war with Iran started J. D. Vance has been hard to find  He's not out cheerleading the war like the nervous sounding Bessant or the administration like the "I took my family to Epstein Island but all I got was this T-shirt and I know absolutely nothing" Lutnick.  Vance is widely believed to have leaked his opposition to the war right as it started.

Another nearly silent, but not quite silent, Administration figure is Marco Rubio, who may be the one administration figure who doesn't do the "Oh Donald, may I kiss your ass" routing at cabinet meetings.  He hasn't been able to completely avoid the topic, but he's been pretty quiet  Indeed, Rubio tends to be remarkably quiet and when he shows up he tends to look really uncomfortable.   There's reason to believe that Rubio is the main backer on the administration's near invasion of Cuba and now that Trump is looking like a military dumbass, there's a real chance that Trump's ardor for military adventure may be over  For that matter, while the current military has been very damaged by Trump, there are likely still enough real officers in the military to protest against start  ing a second war when the current one isn't finished, and it's going to be at least a year, if not years, before that occurs.  Marco may have lost his campaign slogan for 2028 of Viva Cuba Libre "I did that".

Rubio and Vance are somewhat unique in the Trump orbit as they're both real Catholics.  Press Secretary Leavitt is apparently as well, although it sure doesn't show as she's a full time liar.

Rubio, when he speaks, tends to be pretending to be angry while saying Trump didn't say what he said, but what I'm going to say, even though Trump didn't say that camp.

Vance has come out with a book on his conversation to Catholicism which is a big off ramp from the Trump Administration and its Paul Whites and Franklin Grahams.  It's a pretty clear signal that he's separating himself from the Evangelical far right fanatics and is beginning the process of separating himself from Trump.  The book is likely to draw criticism but it's a really smart move, as he's essentially getting up from the Paul White Bee Dance table and walking over to the adults and sitting down with the sane and sober.  He's going for the National Review/First Things crowd, not the NASCAR Country Pop gang.  By the time 2028 rolls around, the folks who were admiring Franklin Graham's letters to Trump will have forgotten all about them, for the most, part, with some being on to new wives and affairs but assured that as they were once saved, they'll aways be.

Rubio likely knows this is what Vance is doing and he's going to have to do something himself  What isn't clear  The value of being a failed President's Secretary of State hasn't really been there since Kissinger managed to find it had one.  Trump is looking worse as a President, indeed worse as a mammal, every day.  My guess is that if Trump isn't removed via the 25th Amendment, he'll find he forgot to let the cat out prior to November and will leave the administration.

When he leaves he can do what Bondi will do, if fired, and what Vance can't do, while Vice President, that being writing a tell all book.  Bondi's will be a bombshell, which is why Trump should not fire her if he's smart.  Bondi's "I Know Where all the Bodies are Buried and Who All the Teenage Concubines Were" tell all will be something else.  Rubio's "I Tried To Stop Trump From Being A Dumbass" book will be less salacious, but interesting  Vance won't have a chance to write something like that before 2028.

Court Watch, Part IV.

Weston County, Wyoming, courthouse.

The Justice Department has sued California to block new congressional district boundaries approved by California voters last week.

It's leaving the Texas crap districts alone, however.

In Utah, a Court blocked an effort to prevent their new commission designed districts, which features, gasp, a Democratic seat.

Cont:

Trump ordered the Justice Department to investigate links Jeffrey Epstein had to prominent Democrats and institutions including former President Bill Clinton and former treasury secretary, Larry Summers. Read as he bounces off the wall in panic like a grade school dodge ball.  Bondi, of course, a loyal sycophant, appointed a prosecutor.

November 18, 2025

A Federal Court in Texas has blocked the state from using its recently redrawn Congressional District map.

Oops.

This will be appealed, but if the decision is upheld it would mean that the five GOP (probably) seats that the state added won't be, while California, in a recent election, added five.

Oops.

Additionally, early indicators are that Texas Hispanics are following the national tread and are becoming disenchanted with the GOP, so some Texas districts may swing Democratic on their own.

Oops.

All of this could mean that the 2026 election could see the House not only swing Democratic, but perhaps massively so, and that some of the Returning Republicans are no longer big fans of Trump, to which those survivors will be reassessing their loyalty to Trump.

January 6, 2026

The big news, of course, is that an illegitimate foreign head of state has been indicted in the United States brought here in a raid by an illegitimate head of state who has experience with the criminal justice system himself.

Total bogosity.

In other news, and in more bogosity of a sorts, the National Rifle Association is suing the NRA Foundation, a trust that benefits the NRA in what partially can be attributed to an ongoing inter NRA feud.

That things were going wrong at the NRA was pretty evident for quite some time.  Things are still going wrong at the NRA.  The organization was run for decades by Wayne LaPierre who followed in the footsteps of Haron Carter in fundamentally changing the organization.

Carter rose to power in the organization in 1977.  Prior to that date the organization had been agnostic on gun control. Following that it moved to being an ardent opponent.

It was under Wayne LaPierre, however, that the organization became radical, frequently using extreme claims to raise funds.  His personal life a bit of a mystery, but he was undoubtedly successful in building up the NRA which became effectively a fundraising arm of the Republican Party, which it remains in spite of LaPierre's fall in a corruption trial.  While LaPierre is gone, the current NRA maintains the script, even though its numbers are falling dramatically off.  It will, for instance, no longer issue a print edition of the American Rifleman starting this year.

What exactly this trial entials I don't know.  It'll be interesting to watch.  It's already accused the Foundation of being run by the disgruntled.

At any rate, while NRA concerns about gun control were well placed into the 1990s, the supposed threats they posed were really waning by late in that decade and the organization has been crying wolf for years.  Gun owners know that and have been dropping out of it, tired of the message that Stalingrad is right around the corner.  Moderate Republicans who are horrified by Trump have not been impressed with NRA's ongoing drumbeat for him.  The LaPierre tactics that lead to its rise, and fall, foreshadowed the rise and tactics of MAGA to some degree, and like a lot of things touched by Trump, the organization appears to be dying.  In recent years, it's support for Trump have lead to claims of hypocrisy by some on the left.

A sad thing is that the NRA really does do some very important firearms work.  It supports shooting programs, matches and range safety in a major way.  There's nothing to replace it in these areas.

I have to wonder if this:

Will influence the United States Supreme Court, which is about to rule on the legality of Trump's tariffs.  A sane ruling would strike them down as illegal.  If they were thinking of supporting them, as of right now they knew that Donald Trump is Bat Shit Crazy and ought to be reined in with a curb bit until he gags.

He's nuts.

Maybe this will influence the Court.

The Madness of King Donald. The 25th Amendment Watch List, Fifth Edition.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an anti vaxxer who has no business running the HHS, announced with Donald Trump today that its recommending pregnant women not take Tylenol due to what it terms an increased risk of autism in children.

But for being born a Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who is a certified quack, would not be occupying this position.  Donald Trump simply offered him this position to remove him as a political threat during the primary.

This will get worse, taking on childhood vaccines is next.

Dr. John Barrasso. . . . remember your original profession?

Tylenol has been around since 1955.

Trump designated ANTIFA, which actually isn't an organization, a terrorist organization.

Rather, it's a movement of persons on the left who regard the Trump prior administration and this one as fascistic, which this one has in fact become.  The name is drawn from an unsuccessful German Communist resistance movement that opposed the rise of Nazism.

Symbol of the 1930s German organization.

ANTIFA in the U.S. is a movement, not an organization, which make the listing of it as a "terrorist organization" all the more frightening.  While those using the ANTIFA logo in the US often have shown far left affiliation, the Administration is itself acting more and more fascistic, in recent weeks appropriating a death for its purposes, illegally deploying National Guardsmen, and pressuring media outlets to shut down its critics.  Presently Trump is pressuring AG Pam Bondi to prosecute its political opponents, of which this is part.

The administration, with these two events, has crossed into new territory, one being now fully into batshit crazy territory in terms of its medical advice, and another having now crossed the line into actual fascism.

The trend is going to get worse.

Trump doesn't seem have any personal allegiance to democracy at all, and its clear that some of his lieutenants in his orbit do not.  However, while his movement has convinced many within it that those on the left are enemies to be hated, the majority of Americans still have allegiance to democracy, albeit in varying degrees.  This is part of the reason that Trump's become increasingly unpopular, and was moreover never popular with a majority of Americans.  As this become more apparent, the Administration increasingly reaches for thing to rally support from its base, or to distract the general population, something aided by Trump's advancing dementia.

Cliffnotes of the Zeitgeist, 96th edition. The Epstein Files.

“In brief, my lord, we both descried

(For then I stood by Henry’s side)

The Palmer mount, and outwards ride,

Upon the earl’s own favourite steed:

All sheathed he was in armour bright,

And much resembled that same knight,

Subdued by you in Cotswold fight:

Lord Angus wished him speed.”

The instant that Fitz-Eustace spoke,

A sudden light on Marmion broke:

“Ah! dastard fool, to reason lost!”

He muttered; “’Twas nor fay nor ghost

I met upon the moonlight wold,

But living man of earthly mould.

O dotage blind and gross!

Had I but fought as wont, one thrust

Had laid De Wilton in the dust,

My path no more to cross.

How stand we now?—he told his tale

To Douglas; and with some avail;

’Twas therefore gloomed his ruggéd brow.

Will Surrey dare to entertain,

’Gainst Marmion, charge disproved and vain?

Small risk of that, I trow.

Yet Clare’s sharp questions must I shun;

Must separate Constance from the nun—

Oh, what a tangled web we weave,

When first we practise to deceive!

A Palmer too!—no wonder why

I felt rebuked beneath his eye:

I might have known there was but one

Whose look could quell Lord Marmion.”

Marmion, Sir Walter Scott.

The reason that late procurer Jeffrey Epstein remains in the news is that the Republicans made the "Epstein files" a big deal.

That's the only reason.

I don't believe that Trump had Epstein murdered.  I don't believe the really bizarre conspiracy theory that the Clintons did either.  Even at the time that was asserted, however, I thought that it made a lot more sense that Trump would have offed Epstein than the Clintons, but I don't believe that either happened.

Epstein and Trump knew each other, and that association (I don't know if Trump has any actual friends at all, I somewhat doubt it) was more than casual.  Epstein claimed to know that Trump liked to screw the wives of Trump's "friends" and that he first had carnal knowledge of Melania aboard the Lolita Express.  At least based on what is out there, Epstein never claimed that Trump dabbled with the underaged.  Trump did claim that Epstein like women "on the younger side", which can mean a variety of things.  Author Michael Wolff  claimed that Epstein claimed he had photos of Trump with topless "young women" sitting on his lap, which again doesn't mean they were underaged.

There have been, however, some accusations, and that's what they are, accusations, that went beyond that.  "Katie Johnson" claimed that she was raped by Trump in association with Epstein.  Was she?  How would we know, the suits were never advanced, and the allegations are so extreme that there's plenty of reason to question them.

And other women claimed they were abused by Trump, while teenagers, on Epstein's island.

But still, all of this may just prove what we already know.  Trump can be proven to be a creep, but that doesn't mean he's a pedophile, if the women's claims are disregarded (which generally, we tend not to do with accusatrices).

Having said that, there's the smoke and fire matter.  People related rumors about the Hefner mansion for years before the full truth of its horrors were told after his death.  Hefner was a rapist, under the current definition, based on what one of his female house guests related to have witnesses in terms of compelled sex.  James Brown was violent towards women there.  Bill Cosby, who turned out to be a rapist, frequented it.

Can you really have an island dedicated to sexual trafficking and not descend into rape?  Can you really circluate underaged girls and not have them compelled into sex?

During Biden's administration, the populist far right, which got ahead of Trump in its conspiracy theories, whipped itself into a frenzy with the belief that Democrats were a secret cabal of pedophiles, and that the Epstein Files would reveal a vast number of important Democrats who were involved .  As soon as the files were released, we were told, the lid was going to be off this horrific discovery.  Trumpite figures adopted releasing the Epstein files as one of the things they were going to do.

After the election, Pam Bondi did in fact release part of the FBI files on Epstein, which is seemingly now forgotten even by Bondi.  She claimed she had an Epstein client list on her desk that she was reviewing, with the information set to be released.

Now the list is lost, or maybe never existed.

Hmmm. . .

Well, if a list existed, it's being hidden, and given the way the Trumpites approached this, there's real reason to wonder why.  They cried for the information, it didn't get released if there was a list, and it should be.  Is it lost?

If it is, how did that happen?

We're also told a list never existed, and it might not have.  That would have been smart for Epstein, and Epstein was no dummy.  How much of a list would he have needed?

Well, maybe some sort of list.  Knowing the high rollers being supplied with teenage girls would, I suppose, perhaps be easy enough, but you'd think you'd write this stuff down for self protection if nothing else.

All of which fuels more conspiracy theories.

Chances are there was no client list.  Epstein probably packed a list of perverts around in his head.  Probably most of the girls he supplied were young, but not underaged, probably.

But now, we'll never really know.

What we do know is that somebody was lying.  Bondi, for example, either had a list and "lost" it, or she never had one.  Others who suggested there was all sorts of smoking gun material that would come to light, if they didn't lie, were in the neighborhood of lies.

But then, Trump has lied so often that people have become numb to it.

Gary Hart had to drop out of the 1988 Presidential election when an affair he engaged in, involving a boat called Monkey Business, came to light.

My, how our standards have fallen.
