Men in New Bedford, Massachusetts, were photographed going to work in a textile mill, when the US had such things.


Benito Mussolini consented to German troops having transit through his country.  Italy was already proving itself not up to the conditions of the Second World War and was being beaten in North Africa and in Greece.  Once the senior partner in the Axis, it was now rapidly becoming a liability.

Life magazine featured a soldier of the new 10th Mountain Division in winter gear on its cover.
