Irgun bombed the King David Hotel in Jerusalem killing 91 people. The hotel was the location of the central offices of the British Mandatory authorities of Palestine, although it was also still used as a hotel.
When originally planned, Irgun had Haganah's approval, but this had been withdrawn, unbeknownst to the Irgun,
The 91 dead were 28 British nationals, 41 Palestinian Arabs, 17 Jewish residents, and five hotel guests from other nations.
Actor Danny Glover was born in San Francisco, where he currently resides. A great actor, he is currently afflicted with Alzheimers.
