The Marines, FWIW, just adopted a new AR piston using 5.56 platform to replace the M4 which, I guess, they'll now be replacing.
Well, good. The Armed Forces should use one longarm. And everyone should use it. Hopefully the M4 Carbine will head into the role of the M1 Carbine, and then out the door, like the M1 Carbine.
