"Ishi", believed to be the last surviving member of the Yahi Tribe and the Yana group was found hiding in a corral near Oroville, California. He was about 50 years old and would die, after being hired as a janitor at the Museum of Anthropology, in 1916.
A California tribe, the Yahi were completely eliminated in a series of genocidal massacres by soldiers and settlers during the 19th century.
Ishi merely means "man". His real name is unknown.
Mahbub Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VI, richest prince of the Indian Empire, died at age 45.
