On the left is M.R. Pankratrte of Company A, 22nd US Infantry, Douglas, Arizona. On the right is Montes Simon, of the 20th Batallion de Siniloy, 3rd Company, Mexican Army, Agua Prieta. The U.S. soldier is carrying a M1903 Springfield Rifle and appears to be carrying the usual compliment of ammunition, 80 rounds. The Mexican soldier is armed with a G98 and a large frame revolver, probably a Cold New Service, and is carrying a huge amount of ammunition.
The Battle of Hartmannswillerkopf ended indecisively.
British motor boats HMS Mimi and Toutou were launched from the lake port of Kalemie, Belgian Congo onto Lake Tanganyika.
