Nabakov, the father of the author by that name who is famous for the novel Lolita, which I've never read. The assassin, Sergey Vladimirovich Taboritsky, was a Russian untranationalist and monarchist who would go on to be a Nazi during in the Third Reich. He survived the war and died in 1980 at age 83.
