Mid Week At Work: We’ve become addicted to the income stagnation story. It’s probably not true.

The Washington Post's columnist Robert J. Samuelson, whose been picking pins in the "income stagnation" story, won't give it a rest, even though he's engendering some vigorous commentary that he's wrong.

His latest installment:


While this may be something that appeals more to economics geeks than anything else, and while it also is just a slice of the economic pie picture, it's interesting.  If Samuelson is right, it's pretty clear we don't understand this story and a lot about our own economy very well.

Of course, a person might reasonably ask, what difference does it make?  Well, quite a lot.
