The Casper Daily Press: April 15, 1916

In this edition we're reminded that Easter of 1916 was in mid April, unlike this year when it was in mid March.

The 'audacious' train robber would have been Bill Carlisle aka the Gentleman Bandit recently released from the Wyoming State Penitentary. These old papers are fun to read!

Indeed he would have been!

Over the next several days we will see this story play out in the Casper paper. At the time, it must have been quite the tense story for Wyomingites, particularly those who had to go anywhere, given the reliance on rail.
